Steel industry The magnesium oxides are used for the production of Transformer Magnetic Steel sheets. Pharmaceutical industry MgO of SCORA is used for its anti-acid properties as a precursor of magnesium hydroxide. The magnesium hydroxide is widely used for the treatment of peptic ulcers and gastric hyperacidity. MgO can be used as source of magnesium in pharmaceutical products. SCORA magnesium oxide is used as a source of magnesium in the manufacture of pharmaceutical magnesium stearates. MgCO3 is a stomach anti-acid and is present in various laxatives. Magnesium carbonate can be used as a base in the treatment of dyspepsia, rheumatism and gout. In dentistry, magnesium carbonate is used in the gypsum impressions from which dental plates are made. Scoralite® is used for the manufacture of tablets made with vitamin D3 for the treatment of osteoporosis. Calcium carbonate Scoralite ® is an excipient or a calcium source. It features in many medicines and particularly in antibiotics.Used as inert filler in medicines, it enables certain constituent to be mixed, which on their own are hygroscopic (aspirin, hexamin, glucuronic acid, vitamin C, vitamin B1). A second process, leads to the production of a pure grade of precipitated calcium carbonate: Scoralite®,available in various specialties of low levels of Lead, Iron, Aluminium, Cadmium. Scoralite® is also available in micronized form, and in direct compression form, with starch, maltodextrin, acacia gum, and polyols (sorbitol..), tailor made formulations on request. |
